Development of the eKultūra Platform for Lithuanian Cultural Heritage

Development of the eKultūra Platform for Lithuanian Cultural Heritage

eKultūra is Lithuania’s national cultural heritage platform, bringing together content from museums, libraries, archives, and other cultural institutions in one place. The platform hosts more than one million cultural objects, with the goal of making cultural heritage easily accessible to the public while opening new opportunities for discovery and engagement.

The Insoft team was responsible for developing key user-facing features and creating the overall digital experience, including the following:

  • Interactive public portal: development of the homepage, news section, event calendar, search, and content browsing solutions.

  • Maps and route functionality: displaying cultural objects on an interactive map and enabling the creation of thematic routes.

  • Digital experience solutions: virtual and augmented reality exhibitions accessible via browser and VR headsets.

  • User self-service features: request submission, issue reporting, help center, and FAQ system.

  • Content management tools for the client: independent administration of pages, menus, news content, and portal design elements.

To deliver a large-scale innovative project, we applied a range of technology solutions. Apart from the technical delivery, we acted as a strategic partner, helping align creative vision with practical technological possibilities.

eKultūra is a platform where history meets the future: old photographs, maps, handwritten documents, and VR exhibitions brought together in one digital space. Insoft is proud that a significant part of these possibilities — from everyday conveniences to advanced artificial intelligence solutions — was created by our team. Cultural heritage is no longer locked away on shelves or behind glass. It is in your browser, on your phone, in your headset. And it only continues to grow.
